The top three achievers of the 2015 GCE A/L (Commerce Stream) Akkheel Mohammed, Sandani Iranga and Randy Ramesh with CA Sri Lanka President Lasantha Wickremasinghe, Vice President Jagath Perera and CEO Aruna Alwis 

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), recently awarded scholarships to the highest three achievers at the 2015 GCE Advance Level Examinations (Commerce Stream) to kick start their professional journey as Chartered Accountants, following their exceptional performance at last year’s A/L exams. 

CA Sri Lanka President Elect Lasantha Wickremasinghe presented scholarships to the Commerce Stream’s Island first Akkheel Mohammed of Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, Island second Sandani Iranga of Devi Balika Vidiyalaya, Colombo and Island third Randy Ramesh of St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa.

Congratulating the three students, Wickremasinghe emphasised that CA Sri Lanka was happy to have onboard these three students of exceptional talent. 

“CA Sri Lanka’s qualification is synonymous for being among the best and most recognised qualification in chartered accounting. Over the years we have attracted some of the country’s best talents, and with such students coming on board I am certain that the future chartered accountants will continue to give exceptional leadership to businesses through their specialist financial acumen.” 

CA Sri Lanka Chief Executive Officer Aruna Alwis noted that the institute takes great pride in its standing as a leading tertiary education provider in the country with a student population of over 44,000.

The revamped CA Sri Lanka syllabus which came into effect since 2015 will produce chartered accountants for 2020 and beyond, who are highly skilled, competent and multi-faceted professionals having the ability to create value, enable value, preserve value and report value for the organisations they serve in.
