Colombo City College signs MoU with Malaysian counterpart

  • To offer Dual Certificate Program in Hospitality and Food and Beverage Management

     

The Colombo City College (CCC) brings a fresh dimension to higher education, training and development in Sri Lanka. At CCC education and training, solutions are delivered through a multi skilled faculty along with up to date leading edge technologies encapsulated within a flexible learning environment.  

The CCC recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the City College of Business Management (CCBM) in Malaysia to offer Sri Lankan students with the opportunity to study a ‘Dual C Program (DCP) in Hospitality and Food and Beverage Management’ in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The advantage of this particular DCP is that the students are granted the opportunity to earn whilst studying enabling them to recover the full cost incurred by the program within a short time frame. Moreover, upon completion of the program students who excel will be given the option to continue working in Malaysia.

The dual certification consists of a Malaysian Skill Certificate (MSC) and a City&Guilds (C&G) Level 1 IVQ certificate. CCBM program coordinator for Sri Lanka Magandran Muthiah stated that: “CCBM has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia. It has also been accredited by the Malaysian Qualification Agency, which is the sole body that ensures the integrity and guarantees the quality assurance of educational programs offered in Malaysia.”

The entire program duration is 24 months and CCMB guarantees on the job practical training at leading hotels in Malaysia as well as accommodation and meals on duty. Sponsoring hotels will pay a fixed monthly allowance to the working students.
