Dialog Axiata awards Merit Scholars for GCE O/L 2011 excellence performance

Sri Lanka’s largest mobile service provider Dialog Axiata sponsored the merit scholarships for the ninth consecutive year, to 30 students who scored top marks in at the GCE (General Certificate of Education) O/L (Ordinary Level) examinations held in December, 2011 and intend to continue studies in the field of mathematics.

The Dialog Merit Scholarship program recognises and rewards the top scorers in O/L mathematics, of the 25 districts, inclusive of the five top performers in the Island.

Under the scheme, each scholarship recipient is awarded a monthly stipend of Rs. 2,500 during their two years of study for the GCE A/L examination.

A parallel program supports the top performers at the GCE A/L, supporting them throughout their undergraduate studies.

Eligible students are selected by the Ministry of Education and communicated to Dialog Axiata.     

Dialog Axiata has already granted nearly 500 scholarships so far, inclusive of A/L and university level students.
