The 11th edition of Sri Lanka’s pioneering education and careers exhibition, EDEX Expo 2014, will be held at the BMICH, Colombo, from 17 to 19 January 2014 and at Kandy City Centre (KCC), Kandy on 24 and 25 January 2014. With a decade of leadership EDEX Expo2014 will mark its foray in to the next generation of education and careers exhibitions with renewed vigour. Living up to its reputation for continuous value additions, EDEX Expo will enter its next decade of success in 2014 to provide an unparalleled service to nation’s youth in their quest to make informed decisions in professional, technical and vocational education leading to gainful and market relevant careers.     Empowering Sri Lankan youth EDEX Chairman Kamal Abeysinghe, commenting on the EDEX Expo 2014, said: “At a time when the post secondary education service industry is poised to undergo a significant transformation, we are best positioned to offer greater outreach to all student communities and aspiring youth island wide throughout the year. We are happy to announce that EDEX Expo 2014 will act as a notably diversified catalyst, expanding horizons of visitors and exhibitors alike surpassing its predecessors.” Envisioned ‘To empower Sri Lankan youth to be globally competitive,’ since its inception in 2004, EDEX Expo has been establishing challenging benchmarks to its competitors over the past decade. EDEX Expo today, is the leading multi stakeholder platform attracting more than 300 exhibitors locally and from over 20 other countries. Objectives are being expanded to provide a common platform for a cream of educational service providers both in Sri Lanka and abroad who are reliable, trustworthy and well respected to offer their academic, vocational and professional courses, programs and services to a vast segment of Sri Lanka’s youth. The choices, options and opportunities on offer will not only be for those who just conclude their G.C.E. (O/L) and G.C.E. (A/L) exams but also for undergraduates and graduates, who are eager to explore opportunities available to suit their tertiary and post graduate academic pursuits.     Advantages for exhibitors For the exhibitors, EDEX Expo endeavours to provide a cost effective sales and marketing platform to a target audience. For the past 10 years EDEX has brought in various value additions focusing on needs of specific student communities, including much marginalised rural communities in Sri Lanka. EDEX Expo 2014 has been endorsed by the Presidential Secretariat, Ministries of Higher Education, Education, Youth Affairs and Skills Development, Environment and Renewable Energy and Labour and Labour Relations. Strategic Partners such as Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) and Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) signify its relevance to many industry chambers and employers. As many regular exhibitors eagerly await EDEX Expo, where stall space is in high demand, the organisers request all exhibitors to submit their applications early and secure required space to avoid disappointment.
