‘Gurunena’ by CA Sri Lanka enlightens thousands of teachers

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) in keeping with its role as the country’s national accounting body has successfully spearheaded a enlighten and expand the knowledge of teachers in the commerce stream.

The seminar series delivered by a panel of experts was held across  various parts of the country covering all provinces and even the commercial capital of Colombo targeting GCE Advance Level teachers in the commerce stream.

Due to the topical subjects, i.e. Sri Lankan Accounting Standards and presentation of financial statements, etc. covered in the ‘Gurunena’ seminar series, the demand for these seminars is constantly increasing and steps have been taken to cover all provinces across the country.

Recently two ‘Gurunena’ seminars were held in collaboration with the North Central Provincial Department of Education and Wayamba Provincial Department of Education by lecturer T. Dharmarajah on 1 June and 22 June at the Zonal Department of Education, Anuradhapura and at St. Anne’s College, Kurunegala, with an impressive participation of over 400 teachers.

Through the ‘Gurunena’ seminar series, teachers are not only given the necessary subject knowledge in the new Accounting syllabus but the seminar is also a platform to encourage them to teach the subject more effectively.
