Hasanji new President of CIMA Students’ Society

Hasanji Ellawala was instated as the President of the CIMA Students’ Society for the year 2015 together with the new Board at the CIMA Sri Lanka Division. Abdul Qadeer was appointed as the Vice President for the year. Manjula De Silva, the Managing Director of HNB Assurance and the Deputy Chairman of the CIMA Sri Lanka Board, was present as the Chief Guest at the meeting. Congratulating the newly elected team, De Silva in his speech stressed the importance of keeping up with the technology to ensure provision of a world class professional qualification. He further stressed on the pivotal role that needs to be played by the student body within the CIMA Student fraternity. Mahesha Amarasuriya, the Head of the CIMA Students Development Committee and Board Member of the CIMA Sri Lanka Governance Board, commended the impressive work carried out by the society in the preceding year. She added that she looked forward to working with the new committee to overcome rising challenges in the competitive field of education. The CIMA Students Society, established in 1993, is the sole representative body of all CIMA Students in Sri Lanka and is the mastermind behind many renowned events within the CIMA Student fraternity that are organised with an aim to improve soft skills required by a CIMA student to become a versatile professional.
