One of the important stops over for Lindsey Garbenis Visiting Associate Director International Admissions of Hawaii Pacific University (www.hpu.edu) during her recent visit to Colombo was Informatics Institute of Technology, pioneers of IT education in the Island.

At her meeting with its Dean Associate Professor Alfred Perera Lindsey expressed HPU’s interest in facilitating a 2+2 collaboration agreement which would pave way for IIT students to proceed to Honolulu to earn a bachelor’s degree within two years from HPU and gain a much valued paid work experience of one year under Optional Practical Training. HPU is prepared to offer maximum credit transfers, financial aid and part-time work for every qualified student from IIT.

The island of Hawaii also offers very similar climatic conditions to Sri Lanka.

The first ever visit by HPU to Sri Lanka was arranged by its Lankan representative, Scholarships for USA (Pvt) Ltd. (www.scholarshipsforusa.com), which is dedicated to promote educational collaborations between the US and Sri Lanka.
