The Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF), the most comprehensive multi product exhibition in the north, will feature a specialised ‘higher education and career guidance’ pavilion, during the three days of this mega trade and consumer show.

Kalvi (Education) Jaffna as it is popularly known will be held for the seventh consecutive year from 29-31January 2016 at the Municipal Grounds in Jaffna.

The exhibition which was the first of the kind to be held in the northern region of the country has throughout the years been renowned as the best and most potent platform for the meeting of people and exchange of ideas.

Kalvi Jaffna is considered Sri Lanka’s most focused higher education and career exhibition in the north. The event is an ideal place for students, parents and young adults to obtain valuable information on prospective higher education and career opportunities.

Over 20,000 students and young adults visited last year’s event during the course of three days. There will be over 40 exhibition stalls displaying and informing the general public of various courses, student programs, higher education options and job opportunities. Specialised colleges, universities and education consultants will be present to share information and discuss opportunities, thus making it a one stop shop for higher education options.

JITF together with Kalvi is organised by Lanka Exhibition & Conference Services Ltd. (LECS) in association with the Yarlpanam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIY) and supported by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB).

The main exhibition last year drew record number of over 60,000 visitors with each exhibitor achieving well beyond their expected targets in terms of all indicators.

The organisers have planned out special pavilions and events to coincide with the exhibition. JITF is considered by many as the ‘Gateway to the North’ for business and investment.

Features at Jaffna Expo – Kalvi Pavilion include Over 50 full and partial scholarships awarded for students; Specialised seminars by prominent speakers; Universities from Canada, America, Malaysia, Singapore, UK, Australia and India participating; Local institutes providing international degrees and diplomas; Student loan facilities; Expert consultation on higher education in Tamil and On the spot registrations and acceptance by international universities.
