On 1 February, 2013 Muslim Aid Sri Lanka (MASL) added yet another feather to its cap of laurels – opening the seventh pre-school established by them for a deserving community.
In Hijrapuram, Mullaitivu 38 pre-school children and their teachers were delighted with the prospect of attending a brand new pre-school instead of the broken down, cadjan hut which served as their ‘pre-school’.
The pre-school building was declared open ceremoniously and handed over to the community by the Country Director of Muslim Aid Sri Lanka in the presence of the Zonal Director of Education – Mullaitivu, Maritime Pattu Divisional Secretary, the Assistant Director – Pre-Schools of the Zonal Education office, the Grama Niladhari, Rural Development Society, village community members including parents and children.
During the ceremony, stationery items were distributed amongst the pre-school students by the distinguished invitees.
