A leading higher education institute in Colombo, Horizon Campus has formed a unique partnership with NCUK, a UK University Consortium, to provide a program that allows students to complete the first year of a UK degree in Colombo, then progress directly onto one of 11 leading UK universities to complete their final two years.

Horizon Campus, Sri Lanka’s only triple accredited privately owned degree awarding institution is delighted to announce that they will be starting the program in April and September. The program will be the first of its kind to be delivered in Colombo and is the only one to provide direct entry into a Russell Group University in Sri Lanka.

NCUK is an organisation with more than 27 years’ experience of delivering specialist pathway programs for international students in 13 countries.

The International Year One program has been designed as a route for students who want high quality programs, a wide range of choices and an overseas university education.

After successfully completing both the International Year One and two years in the UK, the student will graduate with a degree from their chosen UK University. There are a huge number of degrees available, ranging from Accounting and Finance, Business and Economics, Marketing, Human Resources and many more. NCUK are proud to have a proven success rate with 80% of its International Year One students graduating with a 1st or 2nd class degree.

With a prestigious UK education, these highly qualified and talented graduates will bring valuable skills back to Sri Lankan companies.

To enter the NCUK International Year One, students will need 3 Credit passes at A Levels. Horizon and NCUK are offering Sri Lankan students with predicted grades of CCC (3 Credits) entrance to the program which means students can start their degree in September, even before they have received their A level results. This presents a massive opportunity for students wanting to save time as they would normally have to wait until at least January or September!

Horizon Campus Chairman Upul Daranagama said: “The benefits to the Sri Lankan student are endless; not only is it a cost effective and quicker route to gaining a top class UK degree, at Horizon students will receive a quality education and personalised support which fully prepares them for studying in the UK.”

NCUK Market Development Director Georgina Jones said: “NCUK are extremely pleased to be working with Horizon Campus. Together, we will work to produce top quality graduates who will add to the growing talent pool in Sri Lanka.”

Horizon Campus formally launched the International Year One at the Light House Galley on 18 February. Speakers were Horizon Campus Chairman Upul Daranagama, NCUK Market Development Executive Amy-Rose Cauley, University of Bradford Director of Executive Education Lorraine Lucas and British Council Assistant Manager International Higher Education Nishika Hassim. Other attendees were representatives from NCUK Universities – The University of Leeds, Liverpool John Moores University, The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.
