The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), the highest policy maker and the apex body of chambers, recently hosted and concluded ‘Young Entrepreneur Summit’, organised by the Commonwealth Asian Alliance for Young Entrepreneurs (CAAYE), supported by the Commonwealth secretariat, London. The three-day summit held during November titled ‘Profit with Purpose’ was attended by over 130 young entrepreneurs from all the Commonwealth-Asia region countries namely India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei. Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Ajith Nivard Cabraal said he was very much delighted to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Hutch stepped in as its exclusive telco partner, going on to sponsoring more in tremendous ways including the experience of seamless connectivity to all delegates by providing Hutch dongles and Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the summit, allowing them to stay connected on their favourite social networks and blogs, sharing information across borders in real-time. FCCISL Secretary General Nalin Attygalle stated: “Our alliance with CAAYE has been more engaging than ever with the summit hosted in Sri Lanka voicing out a universal concern and sharing knowledge that with purpose comes profit. We thank all our delegates, sponsors and partners for making this happen.” Hutch CEO Thirukumar Nadarasa, delivering the keynote address said: “Our purpose in life is to develop products and services that address the real needs of consumers. Also in this age of excessive consumerism and materialism there also is a need to really step back and relook at exactly what are we delivering as entrepreneurs and business executives and are we really satisfying a real need in consumers.” Nadarasa showcased the theme with Hutch’s story which has made a tremendous impact to people’s lives. Hutch is delighted to have been a partner not just for the summit but to all entrepreneurs who enjoyed the island-wide seamless coverage during the summit including their field visits, staying connected to their work and life circles as if they never left their own country.
