The Imperial Institute of Higher Education (IIHE) is promoting the fresh intake for its BSc (Hon) Business Management and Software Engineering which it has been conducting since 1996.

IIHE has set the record for having the longest association with a parent University, which goes back to the same time frame, with the prestigious University of Wales, UK.

“President Mahinda Rajapaksa has a vision of making Sri Lanka the “Knowledge Hub of Asia”. In order for this realise, we need to build a future based on knowledge acquisition rather than taking short cuts. Hence it is extremely important that students and systems conform to one standard and regulation from enrollment onwards,” an IIHE spokesman said.

IIHE is associated directly with University of Wales hence, all quality systems; academia and certificate are issued only from UoW whilst students, from enrollment to graduation are under the purview of UoW. Furthermore all faculty members are appointed and assessed by UoW.

Explaining the merits of a BSc, the spokesman said BSc will focus strictly on the subject matter. i.e. – if it is management, all subjects will ensure that the entire width and breath of the management discipline. A BSc will not focus non-related subjects such as Geography, History, etc. A BSc will have vertical (from stage to stage) & horizontal (relationship of one subject to the other, i.e. - Marketing to Economics) integration throughout.  There are neither multiple entry points nor exit points in a properly structured BSc degree path. Any University programme requires a basic pre-qualification of 2 A-level passes.

“In today’s context some institutions lure parents to enroll their children into University foundation programmes even though these students may have sufficient pre-qualifications. At IIHE we believe in complete transparency with regards to the payments. Hence the entire fee schedule is disclosed to the students and their parents upfront. There are no hidden charges beyond this schedule,” the IIHE spokesman said.

“Most importantly, the fees applicable at the point of registration will stand constant till the student graduates. We will not revise any fees of students after enrollment,” he added.
