The third and final phase of the Indian Education Fair will be held on 8 and 9 March, at the Kandy City Centre. The event organised by EdCIL (India), will have the support and patronage of the Indian Deputy High Commission in Kandy.

Presidential award winning exhibition organisers, Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (LECS) will partner in organising the event which will help strengthen educational ties between the two countries. The education fair was previously held in Colombo on 2 and 3 March and Jaffna on 5 and 6 March 2013.

Kandy Assistant High Commissioner Sri Natarajan stated: “We take the pleasure of having organised the Indian Education fair at the historical and world heritage city of Kandy”.

He further said, “We have been in Kandy for a long time but this is the first time that the Indian Education Fair is being held in Kandy. From this year onwards we will organise this fair annually in Kandy.”

The Assistant High Commissioner also said that the fair will cater to the higher educational needs of the students not only in Kandy but also in Sabaragamuwa and Wayamba provinces.

“The Indian education fair will be a great opportunity for the students to directly interact with representatives of Indian universities and colleges and clarify their queries,” he said.

The very fact that students can meet, interact, consult and explore the opportunities for themselves is a key component that the fair wishes to promote. The student will have the opportunity of meeting representatives from over a hundred affiliated colleges and would be given due attention to the students needs and inquiries.

The organising committee Chairman B.D.R. Rajan on behalf of the fair said: “We are organising an exhibition in Kandy for the first time under the patronage of the Assistant High commission of India in response to the demands of the student population in that area.”

Further a representative of LECS, the leading Professional exhibition organiser said: “We are encouraged by the response we had in Colombo and Jaffna and that’s what motivates us to organise this fair in Kandy together with the Assistant High Commission in Kandy.”

Technical Director K.V.L. Narasimham emphasised that the Indian Education Fair will be a one stop shop for all higher educational needs of Sri Lankan students.
