Kelaniya Uni. honours Professor Athugala for contribution to mass media

The Director General of the Government Information Department and Professor in the Mass Communication Department of the Kelaniya University Professor Ariyarathna Athugala was felicitated today in his ancestral District of Kurunegala, in honour of his contribution towards mass media and mass communication.

Professor Athugala was honoured with special felicitation by the people of Wariyapola at a special ceremony held at Wariyapola Sri Sumangala Town Hall.

 Prof. Athugala is the first Director General of Government Information Department representing the North Western Province.

The Kurunegala District Secretary A. A. Kusum Hettige, Professor Praneeth Abeysundara and Dr. Attanayaka M. Herath were among the people who were present at this felicitation ceremony.
