  • Professor Michael Burns to meet prospective students from 2 to 6 September at SLIIT Metro Campus
SLIIT, a leader in the education arena of Information Technology in Sri Lanka, has joined hands with Memorial University, one of the top five comprehensive universities in Canada to provide students with a diploma leading to International Bachelor of Business Administration (iBBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).  This diploma program will be conducted by Kings International Institute (KII) an associate of SLIIT. Prospective students are encouraged to meet Professor Michael Burns, the foreign representative of Memorial University, from 2 to 6 September at the SLIIT Metro campus. The students who have obtained at least 5 Credit Passes (including Mathematics and English) at the G.C.E (Ordinary Level) examination (Sri Lanka/London/Cambridge) and are expecting results from the G.C.E Advanced Level examination may apply for this program. Successful students will get the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised degree from a world-class university in just four years after admission. The diploma program leading to the International Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration is primarily designed to provide the student with a solid and well-rounded education in Business. The competency that the student acquires is based on the foundation laid by the core curriculum, which includes modules like Economics, English, Marketing and Organisational Behaviour. While the four-year International Bachelor of Business Administration program (iBBA)is one of only four specialist international business degrees in Canada, the Bachelor of Business Administration program(BBA) offers a traditional four-year North American business program that combines a broad-based foundation of general education and business skills. SLIIT Dean Faculty of Computing and KII Director Academic Affairs Dr. Malitha Wijesundara notes, “Kings International Institute, conducts several programs of study in the fields of Information Technology, Business and Engineering leading to foreign university degrees of Curtin University, Australia, Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom and Memorial University, Canada.” “Memorial’s AACSB accredited business school has been the most successful in the national and international competitions than any other business school in Canada. Experiencing two years of undergraduate study on a world-class North American campus is now within the reach of many more Sri Lankans due to the unique cost advantage of Memorial University.” “SLIIT’s commitment to quality and high standards creates valuable opportunities for students to make a name for themselves in their chosen career paths, shaping them to meet the demands of the challenging business environment and paving the way for the future generation of academics” states SLIIT President and CEO Professor Lalith Gamage. Elaborating further, SLIIT Chairman Professor S. Karunaratne notes, “Our goal is to broaden students’ prospects by providing numerous academic pathways through collaborations with some of the world’s leading universities. Therefore, partner university degrees, from now on will be conducted through KII, an associate of SLIIT. KII is located on the 13th floor of the SLIIT metro campus.” Application forms can be obtained from the Kings International Institute, SLIIT Metro Campus, Level 13, BoC Merchant Tower, No. 28, St. Michael’s Road, Colombo 03 or from www.kii.lk .
