Know India Program for Indian diaspora youth

Applications are invited by the High Commission of India, Colombo for the 21st edition of the ‘Know India Program’ (KIP) to be held from 29 August to 18 September with Tamil Nadu/Uttarakhand as the partner state.



This programme is open for ‘Persons of Indian Origin’ (PIOs) Diaspora Youth residing in Sri Lanka in the age group of 18-26 years (and not NRIs). Selected participants would be required to purchase an air ticket for their journey from their country of residence to India and back. 90% of the total cost of air ticket, at lowest economy excursion fare, would be reimbursed to the participants on their successful completion of the program. The applicants should have a fair command of the English language, should be a Graduate or doing graduation, and should be applying for the first time under this program.

The KIP program would include presentations on India’s political process, developments in various sectors, interaction with the faculty and students at a prestigious university/college/institute, presentation on India’s industrial development and visits to some industries, exposure to media, interaction with NGOs and organisations dealing with women’s issues, visit to places of historical importance/monuments, participation in cultural programs, exposure to yoga, etc.

Completed application forms should reach the Counsellor (Consular), High Commission of India, P.O.Box. 882, No. 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo-3 on or before 5 July for the 21st edition of KIP (Tamil Nadu/Uttarakhand).
