LAHES – The Corporate Campus is enrolling students for the 2013/14 batch of the ‘LAHES Professional Diploma in Business Administration’ program, which equips students with not only theoretical knowledge, but also work experience. The program is scheduled to commence in October.
LAHES; the education arm of diversified business conglomerate LAUGFS Holdings, is a pioneer in employment-focused education in Sri Lanka. The unique feature in the LAHES Professional Diploma in Business Administration is the 3-month full-time, paid internship. In addition, the best students of the program are offered employment at LAUGFS. From the 2012/13 batch, five students were offered Management Trainee positions at LAUGFS and have embarked on their careers.
This distinctive qualification focuses on equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude for the work environment. The program covers a wide range of subject areas that are needed for the corporate world. Going beyond classroom learning, the students will be attached to a LAUGFS Group company to follow a three-month internship, where they would gain hands-on experience in a real work environment and also put what they learnt in class, in to practice.
Commenting on the diploma, LAHES Director/Chief Executive Officer, Vindhya Weeratunga said, “This unique program aims at producing talent with employable skills and knowledge. In today’s ever changing business landscape, pure book knowledge is not sufficient; having hands-on experience would definitely add great value and such a candidate would have a competitive edge over their counterparts in a job interview.
