M.D. Gunasena diversifies into IT education, launches computer school

M.D. Gunasena, the leading publisher, printer and bookseller opened the M.D. Gunasena Computer School recently, diversifying its business in to IT education. The event was graced by Managing Director Ananda Gunasena, Deputy Managing Director Rajiv Gunasena, Oasis International School Education Consultant Tharusha Gunasena, the higher management of the company and M.D. Gunasena Oasis International School Principal Chintha Fernando. Speaking at the event, Chintha Fernando said: “The computer school will continue the tradition of keeping ones progression of knowledge at its core. This computer school is one of the latest educational ventures to continue the traditions of keeping the advancement of knowledge in par with our vision, ‘Imparting knowledge, and building character’.” The vision of M.D. Gunasena computer school is to ‘Instil knowledge in everyone’. The M.D. Gunasena Computer School will offer a variety of unconventional courses to suite every requirement, through expert and personalised teaching services. The Computer School is located at M.D. Gunasena Oasis International School Colombo 12, and caters to 50 students, with two dedicated computer labs. Courses on offer include: IT for kids (stages 1, 2 and 3), Microsoft Office and computer hardware basics. Quality IT courses are defined fulfilling development, design and networking from foundation level. The specialty of the course content is that it follows an international module and expansions we stand firmly on our founding principles, inculcating love, integrity, responsibility, humility and gratitude and continues to function on those values to this day.” Oasis International School since its inception in 1913, has over 850 students in present, from play school to Local English A/Ls and also a stream in London A/L both practically and theoretically.
