Mayor of City of London visits MillenniumIT

Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Alan Yarrow visited the MillenniumIT Campus yesterday, to award a group of Millennium IT employees with their CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment) certificates. 

Also present at the event were MillenniumIT CEO Mack Gill and Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment Country Manager, Sri Lanka Brian Selvanayagam.

The CISI is the largest and most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry in the UK and in a growing number of major financial centres around the world. Formed in 1992 by London Stock Exchange practitioners, we now have more than 40,000 members in 110 countries. In the past year, we set almost 37,000 examinations in 74 countries, covering a range of vocational qualifications. The CISI recognises the demand for qualified and knowledgeable candidates to support Sri Lanka’s financial services industry and helps individuals and firms to attain and maintain high standards of competence, behaviour and integrity.

The CISI has formed strategic alliances with local bodies with the objective of supporting the capacity building for the financial industry in Sri Lanka, including, Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), Sri Lankan Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM), Centre for Banking Studies (CBS), Association of Professional Bankers of Sri Lanka (APB) and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
