Nazaaf Nazar finds placement at Monroe College in New York City

Nazaaf Nazar hailing from a well known business family of Gampola and from Gateway International Kandy (www.gatewaycollege.lk) recently became the first student placed by Scholarships For USA (Pvt) Ltd (www.scholarshipsforusa.com) at Monroe College in New York City USA (www.monroecollege.edu). Prior to departure he was introduced to Prasath Nanayakkara Founder/CEO of Techstrategy Partners (Pvt) Ltd (http://techstrategy-partners.com/ ). Nazaaf is a soccer star from the hill capital. He captained the Gateway team from ‘07 and captained the RedSun soccer club of Gampola which won the all island championship in ‘08. Nazaaf plans to major in Business and gain some work experience in New York - one of the best known financial hubs in the world - which he believes would help him immensely upon his return to Sri Lanka. He also plans to take Monroe’s accelerated program which makes it possible to graduate in three and half years. Prasath Nanayakkara was educated at Royal College Colombo and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - the renowned ivy league which is generally referred to as the world’s premier engineering school. Graduating as an engineer he worked for a few years in US as a senior consultant in IT strategy and headed back home to become the Head of Delivery and Global Head of Enterprise Automation of Virtusa Corporation (www.virtusa.com) one of the best known IT Service Providers head quartered in Westborough, Massachusetts - USA. Upon completing his MBA from INSEAD University, France, Prasath founded Techstrategy Partners (www.techstrategypartners.com), focused on establishing dedicated Engineering Centers of Excellence for Silicon Valley based product companies. Accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Monroe College in NYC was founded in 1933. It’s a professional, coeducational, independent institution of higher education preparing students for careers in the world of business, allied health sciences, technology, professional studies and related areas. Monroe was introduced to Sri Lanka by SUSA in ‘10.
