The Nawaloka College of Higher Studies (NCHS) and Swinburne College Sri Lanka will partner the EDEX Mid-Year Expo 2014 as a Platinum Sponsor. The partnership offers Sri Lankan students the opportunity to study the same courses at both Swinburne University in Australia or its extended campus in Sarawak, Malaysia. “The inauguration of Swinburne College Sri Lanka offers Sri Lankan students a golden opportunity to go through the same experience they would otherwise get at Swinburne University in Australia or its extended campus in Sarawak, Malaysia.  This partnership enables Sri Lankan students to continue tertiary education at a higher education entity with an affiliation to a prestigious university in Australia, while enjoying the comforts of being at home or at least adjacent to home,” stated NCHS and Swinburne College Sri Lanka CEO/Executive Director Victor Raajeevan. Swinburne University offers degrees in computing, design, engineering, advanced manufacturing technology, optics and laser technology, astrophysics, biotechnology, cognitive sciences and social sustainability. Nano-Technology is also another key area that has high relevance in the market-place that is researched and embraced as a new technology that has high potentiality for the youth. Research is also an integral part of the University ethos and so is the relentless pursuit of innovative solutions. Each student at Swinburne is given personalised attention and coupled with excellent teaching facilities and highly relevant course content empowers them to translate seamlessly to work contexts. Thus, ‘the Swinburne graduate is armed with a global qualification to find the employment in the right niche’, said Peter Krikstolaitis of Swinburne College Australia. The same courses will be on offer for the Sri Lankan students and this internationalisation of the curriculum at Swinburne helps prepare students for an increasingly globalised and mobile workforce, who are equipped to take on the challenges of the real-world and find exacting solutions. Swinburne University in Australia is rated as a preferred University as it is highly focused on global research, high-quality teaching and orients the students to interact with their chosen industries and the community in a robust manner. At Swinburne sustainability is also of paramount importance and is an essential part of the student life. Thus those who chose Swinburne can experience an all-round education, whilst nurturing their interests while being directed to profitable career paths in the modern employment market.  Swinburne College believes strongly that education is empowering and an imperative tool for building the future of both individuals and nations.
