New Zealand Career College offers pathway for logistics, supply chain professionals

New Zealand Career College (NZCC) is a New Zealand government funded private tertiary education provider with a category one ranking (the highest possible indicator of performance). NZCC has six campuses in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Waitakare and Manukau, with over 900 students enrolled, of which about 100 are overseas students. The diploma in procurement and supply is designed to expand practical knowledge in purchasing and supply chain management and to develop specialist skills in the field. The syllabus offered would be solely based on the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) with whom NZCC has tied up exclusively in New Zealand. The subject areas covered include effective negotiation in purchasing and supply, developing contracts in purchasing and supply, measuring purchasing performance, managing purchasing and supply relationships, purchasing contracts, management and the purchasing function, risk management and supply chain vulnerability, improving supply chain performance, marketing for purchasers, operations management in the supply chain, contracting in the public sector, leading and influencing in purchasing, strategic supply chain management, supply chain management in practice, legal aspects in purchasing and supply, and advanced project management. The course duration is one year, involving two semesters, will give graduates 120 credits and will cost NZ$ 19,950. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will be awarded the diploma in procurement and supply (level 7). In addition, graduates would gain a Chartered Institute of Purchasing And Supply diploma in procurement and supply and eligibility for full membership (after three years of approved industry experience). Most importantly, graduates will be entitled to a one year job search visa.
