Nations Trust Bank PLC secured the winning title in the IPM inter organisational debating competition held recently at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel amidst a distinguished gathering of representatives from the country’s top corporate entities.

The objective of the debate was to create greater awareness in current HR issues, share knowledge along with new ideas and to improve communication and influencing skills.

The competition was conducted on a knockout basis and a total of eight teams representing leading banks and telecom partners locked horns at the event in pursuit of the coveted title.  Nations Trust Bank took on Sampath Bank in quarterfinals and moved on to defeat SLT Manpower Solution in the semi finals to qualify for the final round with Hayleys (Pvt) Ltd. The final debate was based on a topical subject that had NTB proposing that “in booming economies, human capital development is the primary factor for business growth”; to face tough retaliation from the Hayleys side.

After a close battle that led to a heated final, Nations Trust Bank emerged victorious and became the IPM Inter Organisational Debating Champions for 2011.

The winning team comprised of Ronald George, Maria Jayaseelan, Renzi Ossan, Ayana Abeywickrama, Wathsala Perera and Priyanka Mendis.

Nations Trust Bank PLC is one of the fastest growing banks in Sri Lanka today.
