Asian International School Principal Goolbai Gunasekera joins Priyanthi and Padmasena Dissanayake of Scholarships for USA Ltd. to congratulate Sawin Jayasekera who was recently accepted to Indian Hills Community College in USA with a scholarship.

As Sawin was interested in Aviation and Engineering, SUSA, in record time, attracted three excellent offers from University of North Dakota, University of Toledo and Indian Hills Community College and Sawin’s selection was the IHCC.

Indian Hills Community College, another school introduced by SUSA to Sri Lanka (as recently as January ‘14) has already 10 Sri Lankans with more planning to join in the near future. Located in Ottumwa, Iowa it’s ranked among the top 10% of all community colleges in the nation and is accredited by Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (NCA).

Scholarships for USA since its inception in ’01, has been passionately committed to promoting most affordable US higher education to the Sri Lankan middle class. Their hard work has resulted in over 300 students from all over the island entering colleges and universities across the US. Among the students who benefited from their services are not only students from elite international schools in Colombo but many from distance schools in Jaffna, Ampara, Anuradhapura, Kandy and Galle.

As SUSA constantly challenges itself to discover most affordable quality schools across the US it has been routine for its Directors to travel across US each summer searching for ideal schools for Lankan stars. Their current partners are spread from Hawai’i to North Dakota and from Montana to Tennessee. For most of these schools SUSA were the first ever recruiters from Sri Lanka and soon enough many such schools have ended up becoming household names in Sri Lanka.

Asked about the service provided by SUSA the parents Ranjitha and Pradeepa Jayasekara commented, “Convinced that both Priyanthi and Dissa did a great job. They were at it from the very beginning until Sawin got his visa. We are more than happy to provide referrals to potential candidates/parents on both SUSA and IHCC.”
