Skills training program

As part of the skills training program of Muslim Aid Sri Lanka, carpentry skills were taught to 30 young people from the Horopathana and Kahatagasdilliya District Secretariat Divisions.

The six month course was conducted by a qualified trainer from the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority  (NAITA). Hope of People was the partner organisation for this project.  At the end of the training programme, NAITA conducted an additional exam for further certification. The trainees who successfully passed the NAITA exam were awarded NAITA certificates.   At a ceremony on 28 August, 2012 marking the end of the skills training programme, all 30 participants were awarded carpentry tool packs and certificates by Muslim Aid Sri Lanka.

Muslim Aid Country Director, the District Secretaries of Kahatagadilliya, Horopathana and officials of the partnering organisation for the program Hope for People were present at the event.
