SLIIT, the premier higher education institute in Sri Lanka is committed to producing high quality graduates with an exceptional level of employability. While SLIIT has cemented its status as the preferred place to study for IT, it is yet to be recognised as the number one institute for Business Management. The newly appointed Dean of the SLIIT Faculty of Business Professor Chandana Perera, former Head of the Department of Management and Technology of the University of Moratuwa noted, “The dynamic nature of current businesses needs visionary leaders, strategic managers, innovative entrepreneurs and the power of integrated technologies to perform successfully. Therefore, up-to-date knowledge, dependable competence, marketable skills and creative ideas in management and information systems disciplines have become a cornerstone to the effective operation of businesses across industries.” Therefore the Faculty of Business within SLIIT continues to rise up to the challenge of nurturing business leaders, who can make decisions and implement actions that are right for themselves, their organisations and for the wider community. Whilst getting enriched from international partnerships and professional ties with local industries in its mission of becoming a leading Business Faculty island wide, the SLIIT Business Management program develops its students to achieve excellence where ever they go by extending individual attention and uncompromising quality in training. The Faculty of Business was started as a department in 2007 and the Business Faculty was established in 2011. Initially the department offered the three year BBA (Hons) in Business Management degree programme from Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) UK.
