SLIIT welcomes students for new academic year 2015/2016

SLIIT, the premier degree awarding institute in the fields of IT, Business and Engineering in Sri Lanka, welcomed the 2015/2016 batch of ambitious students on 2 November at the SLIIT campus in Malabe. There were over 4,500 participants at the inauguration, with the academic staff of SLIIT, management, enrolled students and their parents present at this prestigious occasion. In addition, welcoming ceremonies were also held at the SLIIT Metro campus and SLIIT Centres in Matara, Kandy, Kurunegala and Jaffna.DFT-12-5

SLIIT has thus far produced over 9,000 graduates in the fields of IT, Business and Engineering with Bachelors and Masters Degrees and a further 21,000 IT professionals, amounting to nearly half of all IT professionals in the country.  Addressing the gathering, SLIIT President and CEO Professor Lalith Gamage noted, “SLIIT is the right choice for students because we ensure they have a learning experience that is rewarding, enriching and enlightening. We are committed to maintaining the highest academic standards, innovative and modern teaching methods. The highly qualified academic staff, in-house internship programmes, outstanding facilities and foreign university partnerships have made SLIIT one of the leading higher education institutes in Sri Lanka.”

SLIIT has partnered with many reputed universities worldwide, giving students the opportunity to greater study options. “The partner universities are high in rank, deliver high quality education and provide students with the option of obtaining an internationally recognised degree,” commented SLIIT Chairman Professor Lakshman Ratnayake.
