The Association of Business Executives (ABE) recently signed an accreditation agreement with the Global Training Centre (GTC) which is the only accredited online campus in Sri Lanka. This collaboration was initiated with the aim of facilitating students to gain the ABE qualification online. The Global Training Centre (GTC), that launched its services with the mission of bringing globally recognised qualifications to the doorstep of those talented students in all parts of the country, adopts the methodology of online learning which is now one of the most preferred educational options for hundreds of thousands of students across the world. This is mainly due to it being an interactive tool that allows students to learn at their pace, on their own schedule at convenient time. At GTC, students will receive the same certificate as that of an on campus student since all the examinations are conducted by British Council. Students also gain the benefit of not missing any lectures as they can access them at any time through a computer with an internet connection to the GTC’s BLACKBOARD, which is GTC’s online classroom.  In addition, at the end of every session, an online review will be conducted to clarify any doubts of the students and to also provide them the opportunity to gain any additional knowledge that they require of the relevant subjects. Upon student’s request these sessions can be conducted in all three languages. Emphasising the importance of the signed, accreditation, Rumindra Ranasinghe, Country Manager for ABE Sri Lanka stated: “This is the latest success in our continuing efforts to make our qualification available to students regionally. We are seeing a growing interest from these students who are keen on building a career in business. From an employer’s perspective, there is a strong emphasis on recruiting qualified professionals to fill a number of key management positions. For them a qualification such as that from ABE is the most relevant, as it prepares students to lead and drive business forward on a strategic level. Therefore our agreement with GTC is a step forward in helping these students succeed in the business world and will give them a career advantage by preparing them for leadership roles. We want to be involved with quality partners that understand the meaning of quality education which will produce fine, well-rounded graduates and we have confidence that GTC will uphold the high standards that we maintain at ABE.” As one  the world's largest body for professional qualifications in Business  Management , ABE offers the most relevant business  qualification that not only ensures that  graduates receive a solid grounding in the fundamentals of business but it also gives them an advantage to fast track their careers as soon as they graduate. The qualification focuses on seven subjects that include Business Management, Financial Management, Marketing, Business Information Systems, Human Resource Management and Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management. The various different levels of ABE qualifications are accepted by British (and other) universities for entry onto relevant Bachelor and MBA degrees. These universities value students with ABE qualifications, because they know these students have acquired the necessary study skills and background knowledge to succeed, thanks to their ABE studies. Outlining his thoughts on this collaboration, Chandana Senratne, Group CEO of GTC said: “This important collaboration with ABE will enable both institutes to highlight the benefits of a professional and globally accepted business management qualification and to share best practices and develop the global business leaders of the future.” The Global Training Centre also provides Executive Development Programmes (EDP) in association with ABE to up skill the knowledge and competencies of Sri Lankan organisations. The main aim of this program is to develop managers with the ability of creating high performance teams. The Global Training Centre is a subsidiary of Teleios Global Ltd. and is the only affiliated institute in Sri Lanka to offer industry relevant qualifications designed around the best practices in online delivery.
