Established in 1957 as a non-profit organisation, The Overseas School of Colombo (OSC) has a proud history over many years as the only internationally accredited school in Sri Lanka. OSC is a multinational English medium international school catering to the needs of the internationally mobile expatriate community and Sri Lankan students.   Fully authorised IB World School OSC is the only fully authorised IB World School in Sri Lanka offering the International Baccalaureate Program from Pre-school to Grade 12. OSC is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools, UK, and Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in the United States. OSC is a member of South Asia Inter-School Association (SAISA) and Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA). The International Baccalaureate (IB), established in 1968 in Switzerland by a group of international educators, aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The IB organisation – a non-profit educational foundation – works with schools, governments and international organisations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. Amongst many globally recognised institutions OSC students have been accepted at, some are; University of California-Berkeley, Lesley University, New York University, John Hopkins University, Stanford University, University of Portland, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health in USA, London South Bank University, London School of Economics , University of Kent, University of Edinburgh, Thames Valley University – London College of Music in UK, Australian National University and Monash University in Australia, University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University in Canada, Delhi Technological University – India, University of Auckland – New Zealand, and South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine, Aquinas College, Royal Institute and American National College in Sri Lanka.
