USQ Sri Lanka Alumni Chapter holds AGM

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sri Lanka Alumni Chapter of the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) was held recently at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA), the premier professional accounting body in Sri Lanka. This is the Alumni Chapter’s 5th AGM since its origination/inauguration in 2006. The Executive Committee appointed at last year’s AGM for a period of two years will continue for next term 2013/14 under the leadership of its President, Priyantha Punchihewa. However, several positions were re-elected at this AGM due to the positions falling vacant: Tharshini Perera (President Elect), AnuradhaEkanayake (Treasurer), Oshani Wijeweera (Assistant Treasurer/VP Fund Raising) Suresh Muttaih (VP CPD), Ranga Perera (VP Membership) and Waruna Haegoda (VP Public Relations). The Chapter known to be one of the most active Alumni Chapters within International Alumni Network of USQ will be organising various CSR, CPD and social events and programs in the coming year to benefit the members, and students alike as well as to achieve its main focus of increasing the membership. USQ in collaboration with CA conduct lectures and examinations for Masters Degree programs in Business Administration with specialisation in Finance and Project Management in Sri Lanka since 2002. Presently the Institute has made way for over 600 qualified graduates from USQ in Sri Lanka.
